IMPROV Classes 2024-2025

DIGGING DEEPER 13.1.-19.5.2025 (á 2h) + show May 24th 2025

Mondays from 17-19 (5pm-7pm)

In this course, we will examine and practice working together as a group (ensemble). We will also look at individual strengths and possible areas for growth all while exploring different techniques for telling stories (making scenes) together.

Together, each week, we will practice sharpening our skills in grounding the scene, finding our character and following the inspiration. Much of this will be practiced through scene work and play. This course also includes 4 live show opportunities to practice these skills in front of an audience.

This class is for people with previous experience in theatrical improvisation.
During the term you will have chances to perform using all the new skills you learned
Class payment is 145€ / month (paid in one / two or monthly (5) payments as a bank transfer)
No class: February 17th (17.2.2025) / April 21st (21.4.2025)

Terms:
- The registration is binding and by registering to the class, you are required to pay the class in full. The full course fee is 5 x 145€ (including VAT 25,5%)
- If the student has to be absent from the class, Impro Helsinki will not compensate the student for the missed class
- If Impro Helsinki has to cancel a class, we reserve the right to cancel one class without compensation during the semester (January 13 - May 19). That is, if the teacher is sick, the session will not be replaced at another time nor will there be monetary compensation. If it is necessary to cancel more than one course session, the teacher informs the course participants either of a substitute teacher OR uses one of the make-up-days to replace the course session
- Make-up dates: Fri 4.4. & 16.5. (17-19)
- The replacement day for the course session is decided by the teacher, who informs the students in advance

NOTE: We are concentrating on both comedic and dramatic theatrical improvisation.

This training is not for the improvisers who want to do comedy exclusively!

AMOUNT OF STUDENTS:

12-14 (Impro Helsinki reservers the right to cancel the class if the minimum amount of participants wont be reached)

WORKSHOP SPACE:

The course will be held in Ruoholahti, close to public transportation.
There is a kitchen from where you can get water from, and store/ heat up your snacks if you'd like to bring one for you

PRICE OF EDUCATION:

145€/ month (115,54€ + VAT 25,5%). Please express your wish of the number of payments when you apply for the training.
